What is XPLoRE

XPLoRE camps are specifically designed for 11-16 year olds, or school years 7 to 11. The camps are action packed, Jesus centered and full of fun. You will spend time with your friends in your lodge, eat in big marquees and take part in outdoor activities including rock climbing, zip wire and raft building. Each morning you will learn a little bit more about Jesus and each evening you will get to celebrate and explore who Jesus is with meetings, worship, question times, and discussion groups.

The week is jam-packed and bursting with adventure! Are you going to join us?

Whithaugh Park is set in the beautiful Scottish Borders, 25 miles north of Carlisle.  To find out more about Whithaugh Park and its facilities, click here.

The camp is seven days long and tailor made for young people and will run from Saturday 25 July to Saturday 1 August 2020

What is XCiTE?

XCiTE camps are designed for children aged 8 – 11, or school years 3 to 6, who want to have fun and learn about Jesus in creative ways. The camps takes place at Whithaugh Park, operated by Rock UK, which is set in the beautiful Scottish Borders, 25 miles north of Carlisle.

During the holidays children will have chance to hear about the good news of Jesus and get involved in activities such as swimming, playing games, making crafts, singing and having fun. Children will also have the opportunity to participate in outdoor pursuits which are run by Rock UK center staff.

To find out more about Whithaugh Park and it’s facilities, click here. The camps are five days long and tailor made for young children and will run from:

What is Taskforce?

Taskforce is a training and mentoring programme aimed to encourage, equip and enable young people ages 17-19, in School Years 12 & 13 (or equivalent) for Christian service and leadership.

Those who are aged 19 have the option to spend another year in Taskforce or to take on new responsibilities as a YCYH leader. Taskforce plays a key part within YCYH, as they support our various leadership teams in the Whithaugh holidays, ReGenerate events, as well as receiving a separate teaching program.

We are looking for young people who:

  • DESIRE to know God more and make Him known, and who wish to:-
  • DEEPEN their relationship with Jesus
  • DISCOVER their gifts and ways to serve God
  • DEVELOP leadership responsibilities within Christian ministry
  • DISCIPLE others to know God
  • DISPLAY the capacity to work as part of a team under leadership and supervision

The roles and responsibilities are normally defined as below, although certain exceptions are made for young people who are too old, but yet are not quite ready for full leadership responsibilities. This is just a general overview, and will depend on gifts and experience.

  • Junior Taskforce– (School Year 12)
    Serving and supporting leaders
    • Training – Discussion group, praying, discipleship
  • Senior Taskforce– (School Year 13 +)
    Serving & supporting leaders
    • Being mentored by senior leaders for leadership roles
    • Responsibilities (e.g. PA/technical, worship, admin, drama, leading services etc)
    • Training – Bible study groups, child protection

We would love to hear from any young person who has a strong faith in Jesus, and wishes to share their faith with other young people.

Before they can become part of our holidays and events, everyone is required to complete a Taskforce Application Form. Also because the work in Taskforce involves unsupervised contact with children and young people, all those applying, must undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, before they can be involved.
