Serve on Taskforce?
Saturday 25 July 2026 to Saturday 1 August 2026
£285
Taskforce is a training and mentoring program for Christian youth aged 17-19 (School Years 12 & 13), preparing them for Christian service and leadership. Participants aged 19 can choose to extend their time in Taskforce or take on new responsibilities as YCYH leaders. Taskforce plays a crucial role within YCYH, supporting leadership teams in Whithaugh holidays and Regenerate events, while also benefiting from a distinct teaching program.
We are looking for young people who want to:
• DESIRE to know God more and make Him known, and who wish to:-
• DEEPEN their relationship with Jesus
• DISCOVER their gifts and ways to serve God
• DEVELOP leadership responsibilities within Christian ministry
• DISCIPLE others to know God
• DISPLAY the capacity to work as part of a team under leadership and supervision
The roles and responsibilities are normally defined as below, although certain exceptions are made for young people who are too old, but yet are not quite ready for full leadership responsibilities. This is just a general overview, and will depend on gifts and experience.
Junior Taskforce (School Year 12): Serve and support leaders, participate in training including discussion groups, praying, and discipleship.
Senior Taskforce (School Year 13+): Serve and support leaders, receive mentorship for leadership roles, handle responsibilities such as PA/technical, worship, admin, drama, leading services, and participate in training like Bible study groups and child protection.
The camp is seven days long and tailor-made for young people.
Before they can take part in our holidays and events, everyone is required to complete a Taskforce Application Form. Also, because the work in Taskforce involves unsupervised contact with children and young people, all those applying must undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
All bookings are subject to agreement with our Terms and Conditions and our Behaviour Policy, so please read both these documents before booking.
Sibling discounts of £10 are available for additional bookings for members of the same family when made at the same time.
Financial assistance is available if you are on a low income and in receipt of a means tested benefit. If you would like financial assistance, please email the YCYH office at office@ycyh.org.uk
Could you be a leader?
Without leaders volunteering to be part of the team, our YCYH camps just wouldn’t happen. Each year we require at least 40 or more leaders to help run the camps. We are always extremely grateful for those dedicated people who serve and help run our camps.
To be a leader you need to be Christian aged over 18 and someone who has a passion to serve God by by caring and looking after the children and young people attending the camps.
To help keep costs down for campers attending our camps all leaders do have to pay to attend, with costs covering the accommodation, food and travel costs involved in running the camps.
On both camps there are a number of different roles, which are all equally important, and include catering for all those attending the camps, leading a lodge of children or young people, providing pastoral support the leader team, being part of the core team running the camp, or praying for us all before, during and after the camps.
To become a leader on one of our holidays and events, all potential leaders are required to complete an application form and provide references from their church leaders. Also because the work involves unsupervised contact with children and young people, all those applying must undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before they can be involved.
If you are interested in the role but would like to know more then please do contact us and we would be delighted to speak to you.
