Whithaugh 2007
Week 1
Camp 2007 can only be described as one word ... "AMAZING". There were
so many new faces and so many old ones. When I first arrived at the
coaches I was excited about the week! I couldn't wait to get started
with all the activities and events.
There was climbing, canoeing, fencing, go-karting and much more. Plus
finding out who is going to be in your lodge, what leaders you have
and which team you're put in is all part of the fun. Throughout the
week all the teams worked together and everyone built strong friendships.
Each meal time there was yummy food prepared for us by the cooks.
The evening meetings were filled with challenging talks and lively
praise. God really moved throughout the week in everything that took
place. Personally I found the evening meetings most challenging, in a
good way! The meetings were an encouragement in faith and showed many
people that there is more to life and that this is thanks to Jesus
Christ!
The bonfire was good fun and as always and the communion service was
a memorable experience for everyone that attended.
Going into Carlisle is mega and playing hunt the leader is always fun!!
Swimming was great and everyone joined in with games played such as water
volleyball; then having to run back to the lodge to grab the first shower!
Throughout the week everyone was so friendly and happy. The late night
walk was awesome and exciting, it was well worth being attacked by midges!!
Basically camp 2007 was one of the highlights of my summer.
