Whithaugh 2012

If you're looking for a holiday involving serious fun, challenging activities, great sports, craft, swimming and games, as well as engaging bible exploration, then you've found the right place. This will definitely be the highlight of your year, as you'll make new friends, experience brilliant activities, eat great food, and learn how to live for Jesus.

Whithaugh Park is set in the beautiful Scottish Borders, 25 miles north of Carlisle. This 100-acre centre offers Scandinavian lodges for accommodation, 20 metre heated indoor pool, recreation hall, multi-sports outdoor area and an on-site activity centre.

We have age related programs tailored to suit the needs and interests of the children & young people involved. The XCiTE holiday will have an opportunity to learn and develop two adventure activities, while the XPLoRE holidays allow campers to choose three activities such as kayaking, gorge walking, high ropes, climbing, raft building and archery to name a few.

The issue of safety is taken seriously throughout our holidays. Specialist activities only take place under the supervision of fully qualified instructors from activity centres, which are licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority.

Booking & Pricing

The price includes full board accommodation, activities, trips, insurance and all transport (including return travel from York). To reserve your place complete and return the Booking Form, together with a £50 non-refundable deposit as soon as possible.

There may be a small additional cost on the XPLoRE holidays, dependent on the activities chosen, as these vary in price.

Terms & Conditions

Booking Procedure

We cannot accept any bookings unless accompanied by the £50 deposit. We will notify you when your booking has been accepted. On the XPLoRE holidays, activities vary in price and depending on your child's choice there may be a small additional cost. Final information, including confirmation of your child's activities will be sent out in late May.

Balance of Fees

The remaining balance of fees must be paid by 1st June 2011. Failure to pay by the due date may result in cancellation of your child's holiday. If you cancel after this date your fees cannot be returned. Payments are welcome on a monthly basis should you wish to spread the cost.

Cancellation

In the event of any holiday having to be cancelled due to insufficient numbers, or unforeseen circumstances arising beyond our control, we agree to return to you any fees already paid.

Safety

Specialist activities only take place under the supervision of fully qualified instructors from activity centres, which are licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority. Whilst every effort will be made to have qualified staff available, we reserve the right to withdraw any activity if safety standards cannot be guaranteed. All recommended safety equipment is always worn. Participants for water based activities should be able to swim 25m in light clothing.

Behaviour

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to advise us in advance of any disabilities, social or behavioural problems that their child currently has, or has recently experienced, which may affect them or other people during the holiday. We operate a behaviour policy to which all young people must agree before the start of the holidays. Part of this policy includes a strict no smoking policy. Under no circumstances during the holiday should any person be under the influence of alcohol or any other substance, except for medical reasons. In the event of a serious incident we reserve the right to send a child home. This will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian to make arrangements to collect the child at their own expense. Parents will also be required to pay for any deliberate and wilful damage caused by their child.

Insurance

YCYH and all guests are covered for public liability. Guests are not however, insured against personal accident or injury as a result of an accident, or loss of possessions. We therefore suggest that those who feel that additional insurance is necessary to make their own arrangements.

Data Protection

We will hold your details on file, but will not release the information to any third party.

Child Protection Policy

We have a Child Protection Policy which aims to promote good practice by our leaders so that children and young people can safely take part in all our programmes. All leaders are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure through the Criminal Records Bureau.

Photographs & Video

YCYH would like to take photographs/video recordings of your child during the course of Whithaugh 2011 for promotional purposes. These images may appear in our printed publications, video publications, and on our website. Please contact us, if you do not wish for your child to be photographed. We cannot take responsibility for any photographs/video recordings that are put onto social networking sites by guests on the holidays.

York Christian Youth Holidays

We are a charitable voluntary organisation, with many years experience of running such holidays, programs and events. The organisation is non-denominational and financially self supporting. We are also organisational members of Christian Camping International (CCI).
