Reviews... Plans... |
What a lot we have to thank God for! God is really impacting the lives
of so many young people through YCYH. Last summer, was the first year
of having a second week at Whithaugh Park, creating the opportunity
for 60 more people to experience it! It was so successful that it will
happen again this year! In total over 200 people will be involved in
Whithaugh Park 2007. In Autumn, will be launching a small team to
publicize the work of YCYH amongst many more churches and youth
organisations.
'RUup4it?' events continue to run every 2 months with
growing support from church groups across the area. Recently we have
received significant funding towards equipment which will improve these
events much further.
Taskforce (17-18 year olds) serve on both weeks at Whithaugh and
support the 'RUup4it?' events. In March, there was another 'Living
the Life' weekend, this time led by Jonny Clifton
(Student Worker - Spicer Street Church, London).
This summer 25 young people will be involved through Taskforce at
Whithaugh Park.

Let's Pray |
Phil 4:6 (NLT) says, "... pray about everything. Tell God what you
need and thank Him for all that He has done.
This verse shows what our attitude should be. There are many decisions
that have to be made, and we need God's guiding hand at all times. The
solution is always to pray.
Many of you have been so faithful in this ministry, for which we cannot
thank you enough. Without prayerful support we cannot go forward with God.
There are a number of ways in which you can support us in prayer. One way
is through our
prayer diary. Other ways are through
specific prayer events (see
Diary Dates). Please be encouraged to come
along and take part in these events. We really want to commit this whole
work to God in prayer.

How did you get involved with Taskforce?
I was approached by Blackers at church one week... and have never
looked back.
What were you expecting before you went?
I was a bit dubious as I didn't know many people who were going
and I thought I would be a bit shy.
How did it differ to what you expected?
Everyone was really welcoming and I felt comfortable straight away,
we had some fun opportunities including cleaning toilets... it's
amazing what conversations this task can produce!
What did you learn about God?
During a week of serving the campers and studying the Bible I
learned how much God loves all of us and he proved this through the
amazing experiences the campers and leaders took away with them. I
also realised how important the Bible is to my faith, something which
I hadn't previously understood.
What did you learn about yourself?
I learnt that I was able to use prayer and Bible study to gain
a closer relationship with God, something which I hadn't realised prior
to camp.
What's good/bad about Taskforce?
Good: The great friends you make during the week, I'm still in
contact with most of the lovely lot now.
Bad: The cleaning duties become rather tiresome after about the third
day, but they are just so darn enriching!
Would you recommend it to a friend?
I already have.
Are you coming back?
Absolutely!
