News! News! News!

Review...Plans...Vision

This year has certainly been busy on a number of fronts. We have held 3 successful "RUup4it?" events, aimed at 11-16 year olds, now based at Manor School, York. A good number of new churches/youth groups are now being represented, with between 70-100 young people attending each event.

In April, we ran another "Living The Life" weekend, this time at Wydale Hall. It was a privilege to see this group of 17-18 year olds (19 in total), sharing, praying, using their gifts and encouraging one another to move on with God. For that age group we now have a training and mentoring program called "Taskforce" aimed to encourage, equip and enable them for Christian service and leadership.

For a number of months now, we have also been planning towards Whithaugh Park 2005 (Sat 23rd - Sat 30th July). The week, which involves activites, sports, trips, and bible teaching is a wonderful opportunity to get alongside, share and encourage young people to have a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

This year has also seen the formation of a "leadership group" to bring long term vision and stability to the organisation. We have already begun the process to become a charity.

We are also seriously considering starting a small 2nd week at Whithaugh Park in the summer of 2006, as a number of churches/youth groups have expressed interest in getting involved. Please do let us know as if you are interested in helping out, as we plan to have a meeting about this on the evening of Monday 19th September.

It has been amazing to see God really impact the lives of so many young people through the work of YCYH. As we have continued to grow, this has put an increasing strain upon our financial resources. We do rely upon the gifts/donations from churches and individuals to operate, and to those who support us financially, we are extremely grateful. However, to make our work much more sustainable, we do need ongoing financial support, and we would ask you to consider if you can help in any way.

Whithaugh Park 2005

Lets Pray

As we prepare for Whithaugh Park 2005 (Sat 23rd - Sat30th July) we would realy value your prayers. Our desire is that all the young people going would hear about Jesus and repsond to Him in a safe, and fun environment.

There are a number of ways in which you can support us in prayer. one way is through our prayer diary which is available on our website www.ycyh.org.uk. Another way is to meet and pray together with a group on a number of weekday lunchtimes in July (See Diary Dates). During the week we are at Whithaugh Park, there will be specific items for prayer, as daily reports will be sent to Keith Murray.
