About YCYH
York Christian Youth Holidays (YCYH) is a charitable voluntary
organisation with many years experience of running such holidays,
programs, and events. The organisation is non-denominational and
financially self-supporting.
Holidays and Events
We aim to run quality, affordable, safe holidays, and events for young
people aged 8-18. All specialist activities only take place under the
supervision of fully qualified instructors from activity centres,
licensed by the
Adventure Activities
Licensing Authority (AALA).
Finances
As a charity, YCYH operates on a small financial balance. With so many
monetary demands put upon families today, we purposefully keep costs to
minimum, in order for young people to be involved in our
Whithaugh Park
holidays,
RUup4it? events,
Taskforce training and mentoring program and
Living the Life weekends. We therefore
rely on gifts and donations from churches, organisations, and
individuals. Opportunities to support us are available though our
gift aid declaration form
and/or
bankers order form. For
further information on our finances click here.
We also believe that young people regardless of their financial
circumstances should have equal opportunities to be involved in our
holidays and events. Since 1998, a 'Special Fund' has existed to support
young people from low-income families.
Christian Camping International
We are organisational members of
Christian Camping
International (CCI), which is an association for Christian
organisations involved in camps, holidays, conferences, and outdoor
centre ministries.
Child Protection
YCYH regard child protection and good working practice as a priority. In
the interests of the safety and well being of all children and young
people, we have developed and operate a formal child protection policy,
which is registered with the
Churches Child
Protection Advisory Service (CCPAS).
We are committed to ensuring that everyone who works with children or
young people, has undergone a Criminal Records Bureau check at enhanced
level, is adequately trained and supervised, and understands and follows
our child protection policy. A behaviour policy and agreement, that all
children must sign and adhere to, is now included as part of our child
protection policy. This makes clear ground rules, and ensures that all
leaders, children, and their parents/guardians know and understand the
course of actions to be taken should there be any bad behaviour during
our holidays.

child protection statement.
A copy of our full child protection policy can be obtained from the
address below. We also have a kitchen food safety and hygiene policy in
place.
Our vision
Our vision is to encourage young people to know our Lord Jesus Christ,
and to equip and empower them to live out their Christian faith. In
order to achieve this goal, and continue growth, we need further support
from churches/youth groups to get involved in this work. A short
promotional DVD about our organisation, including every aspect of our
work, has been produced.
